He was caught during an undercover sting operation by a Johnson County Sheriff's Detective posing as a 14 year old girl online. He had driven from Hamilton County to meet the detective, changed his mind at the last minute and turned around just before arriving at the designated meeting place, but was apprehended by officers staking out the area. Gary Rose, 50 years old, was sentenced to 40 years in the Department of Corrections followed by 30 years on probation for molesting two children, one in 2004 and one in 2010.
